Joe Poehling, First Supply Chairman Elected President of American Supply Association

Chicago, IL – The American Supply Association (ASA) announces that Joe Poehling, Chairman & CEO of First Supply LLC has been named their president.

The American Supply Association is the national federation for wholesale distributors and manufacturers of the Plumbing - Heating - Cooling - Piping (PHCP) Industry. For more than 31 years, ASA has provided the forum for PHCP wholesale distributors from around the country to discuss the critical issues facing them. Membership in ASA provides a national alliance with industry distributors, manufacturers, and other suppliers. In his acceptance speech in Atlanta, he stressed that with the current turbulent economic times, it is more important than ever to be a part of a strong national association. He will focus the association’s efforts on its $10 million education endowment, increased advocacy in Washington DC and making the industry the leader in providing environmentally friendly products.

"ASA represents the best and brightest the supply industry has to offer. First Supply has been a proud member of ASA since it formed in 1969,” said Poehling. “I look forward to serving as president and continuing its tradition of excellence."

Joe Poehling is the 4th generation of his family to lead the company. After graduation in accounting from the University of Wisconsin, Joe entered the family business full-time at its La Crosse location and held several positions and in 2005 entered his current role as chairman. In addition to being chairman; Poehling has been and is involved in several industry associations including ASA and Affiliated Distributors.

First Supply LLC is a regional wholesale distributor with twenty-seven locations in the upper Midwest. Founded in 1897, First Supply, employing over 500 people, is a family-owned, single source provider of plumbing, heating, cooling, pump/well & septic, municipal, waterworks, builder and industrial supplies.
