Explore Ixtapa in January 2007
Ixtapa – Fun in the Sun!
Two groups are scheduled to depart on either January 11 (Milwaukee) or January 17 (Minneapolis). Upon arrival in Ixtapa, you'll be motorcoached to Las Brisas resort, a landmark of excellence on Mexico’s beautiful Pacific coast. Your week in paradise will hold a variety of rich culture, fine foods, exciting tours, and plenty of relaxation!
Las Brisas Resort
Nestled in a tropical jungle on Mexico’s sparkling Pacific coast, Las Brisas Ixtapa offers unparalleled beauty and tranquility. You’ll enjoy a private sandy bay, yet be only minutes from the glitter of Ixtapa and the charm of Zihuatanejo. Four pools, four tennis courts, outstanding restaurants, 416 luxurious rooms and suites with private, ocean-view balconies and nearby two par-72 golf courses await you. Las Brisas offers a perfect balance between recreation and relaxation, award-winning service and the type of close attention to detail that makes you feel good about your stay.
Zihuatanejo
Zihuatanejo is a nearby village to Ixtapa and often thought of as a classic Mexican pueblo. The village has an unpretentious, informal attitude and a serene setting of tropical beauty. With its seaside cafes, intriguing native markets, a pleasant malecon (seaside promenade), and centuries of tradition, Zihuatanejo is great fun to explore.

Shopping
In Ixtapa: There are a wide variety of stores, restaurants, bars and cafes. You’ll find exclusive designer boutiques and renowned decorators, as well as beachwear stores and the famous arts-and-crafts market, all conveniently located along Boulevard Ixtapa.
In Zihuatanejo: There are stores all over town, particularly in the downtown area of Zihuatanejo. It is great fun to walk along Fishermen’s Walkway, having ice cream or coffee while shopping at your own pace. Take some time to visit the old church, the arts-and-crafts market, or talk to the locals while they share their old tales and legends. A visit to the art galleries on Juan N. Alvarez Street is a must; there you’ll find the works of great artists as well as the flavor, color and warmth of Zihuatanejo.
Nightlife
A night out is the best way to end each day. Zihuatanejo’s downtown bars, where you can listen to the sounds of trova, salsa and boleros on the many fresh terraces, are a must for romantics and bohemians alike. Try visiting the discotheques and bars in Ixtapa like Señor Frog's & Carlos'n Charlies, where music plays all night long and the excitement never ends. Or perhaps you'll enjoy live music in the numerous hotel lobby-bars, as well as some magnificent international and tropical shows.
Beaches
Ixtapa is famous for its beautiful beaches, but it is not their sole beauty that makes them unique among beach destinations. It is the warmth of their waters which makes them so enjoyable.
Golf
Ixtapa features two fabulous golf courses, the Marina Ixtapa and Palma Real, which make this tropical destination a true paradise for golfers of all levels of expertise.
Explore Oceanlife
Ixtapa has an astounding variety of sea creatures from small sea horses to large hunchback whales during the winter months. You will also find large schools of dolphins or big manta rays. There are around 52 diving sites from reefs, corals, underwater mountains (dips) and plateaus sticking out of the ocean.
Fishing
Zihuatanejo has become famous for its sportfishing and the World Class Tournaments held here. Evaluated by 11 criteria, it has been named recently as one of the world’s most popular fishing resorts by a sportfishing magazine.
Birdwatching
In the Ixtapa area, more than 320 different bird species have been identified and are all waiting for you. Among the most common ones, we’ll mention Great-Tailed Grackles, Yellow-Winged Caciques, White-Throated Magpie-Jays, Graysons, Brown Pelicans, the magnificent Frigatebird and many more.
