DETAILS
THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR PERSONNEL THAT MUST RETURN EQUIPMENT TO A FUNCTIONAL LEVEL IN A SAFE AND TIMELY MANNER. BY UNDERSTANDING THE BASICS OF ENGINEERING, MANY PROBLEMS CAN BE CORRECTED LONG BEFORE THE “FACTORY” SERVICE PERSONNEL CAN GET TO THE JOB.

IN 48 YEARS OF ENGINEERING, TROUBLESHOOTING AND START‐UP OF EQUIPMENT, SIX “LAWS” OF ENGINEERING ARE USED TIME AND TIME AGAIN. UNDERSTANDING THESE “LAWS” ALLOW THE FRONT‐LINE PERSONNEL KEEP THE FACTORY RUNNING IN A SAFE AND ENERGY SAVING MANNER.

PRE‐REGISTRATION AND A “PRE‐TEST” IS A REQUIREMENT
THE PRE‐TEST IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF AVOIDING INFORMATION THAT IS ALREADY KNOW BY EVERYONE ATTENDING. THE PRE‐TEST WILL BE SENT OUT A TWO WEEKS BEFORE AND NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED A WEEK BEFORE THE COURSE.

COST
THE COST IS $150.00 PER PERSON WITH A MAXIMUM OF $300 PER FIRM REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE.

PRESENTER
JAMES POEHLING IS A REGISTERED WISCONSIN PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER WITH 43 YEARS OF DESIGN EXPERIENCE AND 600 PLUS STATE APPROVED HVAC DESIGNS. HE HAS 48 YEARS OF EQUIPMENT START‐UP EXPERIENCE OF BOILERS, BURNERS AND PUMPING SYSTEMS; HE HAS ALSO TAUGHT BOILER OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE CLASSES FOR INDIVIDUALS ATTEMPTING TO BECOME “CERTIFIED” BOILER OPERATORS IN MINNESOTA.

FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS HE HAS ALSO COMMISSIONED BUILDINGS, BOTH NEW CONSTRUCTION AS WELL AS RETRO‐COMMISSIONING. HE HAS COMMISSIONED TWO LEED PLATINUM BUILDINGS, THREE LEED GOLD BUILDINGS AND SIX LEED SILVER BUILDING UNDER EARLIER LEED VERSIONS. IN 2017, HE DESIGNED THE FIRST LEED GOLD V‐4 RETAIL SPACE IN THE NATION.

THIS ONE DAY COURSE IS A DISTILLATION OF THAT EXPERIENCE. IT IS DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE WITH A NEED TO UNDERSTAND HOW AND WHY THE SYSTEMS WORK AS THEY DO AND HOW TO AVOID COMMON PROBLEMS. IT WILL ALSO ALLOW THEM TO EVALUATE WHETHER EQUIPMENT SUPPLIERS ARE PROVIDING TRUTHFUL INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR EQUIPMENT.

COVERING HVAC EQUIPMENT, PUMPS, BASIC ELECTRICITY, AIR AND WATER QUALITY, THIS COURSE PROVIDES THE ATTENDEE AN OVERVIEW OF MOST THINGS THAT MAINTENANCE IS CALLED UPON TO KEEP IN REPAIR.
